Reflections was one of the most emotional paintings I have attempted to capture. Nowadays, society is always looking forward. We forget to look into our past, but we cannot move forward by ignoring history. It takes self-reflection and meditation on the past to accept what has happened and truly move on. The figure in the painting doesn't see her new reality but rather what was lost. A distorted reality can only be overcome when she accepts her pain and strives to move forward.
